*knew it wouldn't last...*

Poor old Freya-chops did not want daddy to leave her at school this morning, and he ended up having to take her in, to be prised off him by her lovely teacher, Miss Mahoney (pronounced Marney, but we have christened her Miss M'Honey at home, as it seems far more appropriate!!) Anyway, she came out of school with a yellow smiley face sticker on her cardi, given to her by the aforementioned Miss M'Honey as a reward for cheering up as soon as daddy had turned the corner this morning. Honestly, I don't think I can go through another bout of separation issues; I had it literally all the way through nursery, when I had to leave a teary-faced 3 year-old every single morning. No fuss from me, there was no way I was going to pander to it, but it carried on right the way through the year. Reception year wasn't quite so bad, although there were a few weeks at the start when it was touch and go. Year 1, this time last year, was pretty bad again, both at the start of term, and after Christmas after Freya had a spell in hospital (which, of course, was totally understandable.) I had hoped she'd outgrown it, though, and she was off to such a positive start Tuesday and yesterday. Ah well, we'll just have to see how we go. If necessary, I'll start another sticker chart - it worked last year...

Anja was frustrated not to be going to school today; she's not in again until next Monday, and then just for the morning, and then not again until Thursday, again, only for half a day. She is desperate to get back in there, and I am trying to keep her entertained whilst Freya's at school, but I think she's had enough of me after well over 6 weeks' holiday!!

In desperation, I have signed up to this diet plan today; I had hoped to be able to manage it myself, but I need something to give me that added incentive to keep going, and this site has recipe plans, shopping lists, a diary and all sorts of hints and tips - £1.75 a week seems like a small price to pay if it works, and not a lot to lose if it doesn't! We'll see...

not to worry, she'll be fine. Taught 6 year olds for 14 years and its a big step going to school all day. give her lots of love and show your confidence that she'll be fine. Had one crier this year on Tuesday and it seems like years ago already. We're all having a blast together.
